Manila Lions Club serves pancakes for a good cause
Don Nunnally makes the batter and said he learned how to do it from the best, Bobby White, who stirred the pancakes for many years before he retired.
The pancake suppers have been part of the Christmas tradition for almost at least 60 years and the Manila Lions Club use the proceeds to help with Christmas baskets they distribute each year.
Several members of the high school Leo Club helped with the serving of the pancake supper.
Lion Gary Perkins said they are very pleased to have the young people involved in the club.
"We appreciate everyone who participated," Perkins said. "Without the community support we would not be able to do what we do."
In addition to the pancake super, the Lions started ringing the Christmas bell on Friday at the four way stop on Olympia and Baltimore Streets.
