Manila parade draws large crowd

The Manila Christmas parade was held Saturday, Dec. 4, with floats, motorcycles, horses, four-wheelers, the Cooter Marching Band, Manila Marching Band, the ROTC Color Guard, fire trucks, police vehicles, rescue units, antique vehicles and many more.

Serving as Grand Marshals this year was the family of the late Dean Cherry, longtime Manila City Council member.

Manila Mayor Clifford Veach expressed his appreciation to everyone who participated making this one of the best parades every.

Among the participants included area police departments, ambulance services, fire trucks, Caraway Search and Rescue, Dell Fire and Rescue, Wings of Service Motorcycle Club, Radio 93.9, Frosty the Snowman float, Burdette Fire Department float, Towell and Sons sleigh, Cheeto, The children's train, Wurthit Ministries, Heartland Church of God, Manila FBC CREW Youth Group, Sonic, Manila Scouts, Manila First Assembly of God, Manila Head Start, Little Magical Minds, AROH Scouts, Nucor, Luxora Fire Department, State Champs baseball team, American Greening Eskimo Kisses, Ark. Game and fish, Nucor, and Santa Float sponsored by Southern Bancorp.

Manila awards prizes to all full sized regulation floats participating in the parade.
