Friends and family gathered to wish retiring Mississippi County Judge Steve McGuire well wishes. Judge McGuire served the people of Mississippi County for 16 years.

Throughout his years in service, Judge McGuire could be heard to say, "It's a great day to be in Mississippi County."

McGuire said he considered it an honor to have served.

A video of events throughout the last 16 years was shown, refreshments were served, and hundreds of people dropped by the Mississippi County Courthouse during Wednesday's reception held from 11 to 1 p.m.

McGuire expressed his appreciation to the residents of Mississippi County for their support through the years.
