Buffalo Island Central and Riverside both took home victories Monday night, Nov. 22, in senior high girls basketball action. The Lady Mustangs whipped Walnut Ridge 67-37 while the Lady Rebels outscored Black Rock 56-38.
Brittany Fowler pumped in 22 points while Cassidy Qualls added 11 more for BIC, who improved to 11-0 overall and 3-0 in 2A-3 conference play. Jenna Pike added nine points.
Audrey McElrath led Walnut Ridge with 12 points.
In junior high action, BIC rallied from a 12 point halftime deficit for a come from behind 45-41 victory over the Lady Bobcats. Hannah Poe led the Lady Mustangs with 14 points and six steals. BIC evened their conference record at 1-1 while improving to 8-3 overall.
Kyley Campbell scored a season high 23 points while Meagan Goza completed a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds in Riverside's victory over Black Rock at Lake City. Campbell drilled four three pointers for the Lady Rebels (2-8) while adding four assists and four rebounds. Haley Slusser led the Lady Zebras with 12 points.
Riverside took the junior high game 42-19 to improve to 13-1 on the season. Kenzley Wilson led the Lady Rebels with 16 points, six steals and four assists.
BIC returned to action Monday night when they hosted Cross County in a 2A-3 conference matchup. The Lady Mustangs will also participate in the White County Invitational Tournament which began Nov. 29 and runs through Dec. 4.
Riverside will traveled to Rector for a 2A-3 conference game Monday night and will host the Gerald Jennings Invitational Tournament Nov. 29-Dec. 4 at Caraway.
