Among topics at the Buffalo Island Central Nov. 8 school board meeting, members approved several student transfers, discussed facility to house animals for FFA, selected delegates, and approved a leave of absence.
Student transfers, approved unanimously, were Micah Thompson to Riverside; Tiffany Whillock to Manila; Whitney and Hunter Davidson, to BIC from Manila; Courtney Fleeman, Dylan and Cory Clark to Manila; James Barnett to Riverside.
The board discussed the need for a facility to house animals for the FFA. The discussion centered around needs, costs, and the process to follow to provide the facility. The board wants to gather more information from Agri Instructor Bruce Fires before proceeding. Mr. Fires will report to the school board at the December meeting.
Bill Misner was selected to serve as Board Delegate to the Assembly at the annual ASBA Conference in Little Rock.
A maternity leave request was approved for Lauren Denny.
The board approved the student health services plan for students with special health care needs.
The board approved the October minutes and reviewed the financial statements and warrant listings.
