The fair booth exhibit was titled "Me and My Community" and depicted individual growth attained by being a community volunteer.
The backdrop for the exhibit depicted a large forest with blue skies overhead. Three fall foliage covered trees held listings of age appropriate things that can be done in a local community. These included reading for children at the local library, city beautification projects, cemetery clean up, and fundraisers such as United Way, St. Jude's Hospital, March of Dimes, Circle of Hope, Make a Wish, and Salvation Army.
Two planning meetings were held where club members built the booth and prepared it for transport. The exhibit was set up at the NE District Fair on Sept. 11 and viewed by visitors to the fair until Sunday, Sept. 19.
The Best of Show exhibit scorecard listed high marks for the booth in appropriateness of theme, presentation, title selection, design, printed visuals, delivery of message and total effectiveness.
