Kickoff celebration held at MHS

Manila senior high football team

Manila hosted the kickoff celebration on Monday night giving fans the opportunity to meet the football players, cheerleaders, band members, and flag line.

Coach Toby Doke introduced the new coaches, Brett Shrable and Trent Floyd.

Players enjoyed being on the sidelines cheering for the alumni game.

The game was close with Coach Doke's coming out with the lead at 49 with Coach Shrable's team's 39. School Board members Tracey Reinhart and Johnny McCain assisted in coaching the teams.

Cheerleaders, alumni cheerleaders and cheerleader mothers joined together to rally the teams with a cheer.

Mothers of football players then joined their sons on the football field for a few drills.

Coach Doke manned a football question and answer session with the parents.

Everyone was invited back on Tuesday for a scrimmage game against Cross County. The junior high game will start at 5 p.m. and the senior high game at 7 p.m.
