Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Lake City Mayor Billy Anderson gave each alderman a copy of the letter and Financial Statement prepared by Scott Despain, CPA for Despain, Luther, Short & Company, at the regular Aug. 16 meeting. Mayor Anderson pointed out the outcome of the water and sewer audit for June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010, showed "no findings noted."

Council members accepted the audit. Present for the meeting were Harold Barker, Tommy Eakins, Ann Davis, Jeffery Wisham, Jon Milligan and Brenda Hutcheson. Also present was City Clerk Linda Simpson.

Simpson read Resolution 816-10, a resolution supporting the display of the National Motto "In God We Trust." A motion was made by Alderman Milligan and seconded by Alderman Wisham with all members voting approval.

Simpson then read Resolution 00816A-10, a resolution supporting Amendments to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas: Issues No. 2 and No. 3 for November Election. The resolution was accepted unanimously.

Sample evaluation employee forms were distributed to the council members for their review. Simpson asked that each council member highlight sections and/or pick out the one he/she preferred. From this selection a new employee evaluation form will be compiled.

Mayor Anderson informed the council the roofing project at the ballpark was completed and new lights on Cobean Boulevard had been installed. He said Atlas has been contacted to being the paving project and the new cemetery has been surveyed and is awaiting approval from the Arkansas Department of Health.

The next council meeting will be held Sept. 13 due to the City Clerk attending the Municipal Clerk's Institute in Fayetteville, Sept. 19-24.
