Leachville High School Reunion set for Sept. 4

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Former Leachville classmates will be coming together for a reunion on Saturday, Sept. 4.

Barbara Lloyd and Moba Lee Miller, coordinators for the Leachville High School Reunion, show off a special banner made and designed by Dorthy Wilson Goforth of Ontario, Canada. The banner and sign welcomes alumni back to Leachville. She also had a banner made for the stage and a Leachville Lion flag.

The reunion is for anyone who ever attended or worked at Leachville High School during the years of 1927 through 1984.

The day's events will begin at 9 a.m. with a ceremony at the Veteran's Memorial Park. At 10 a.m. a parade of former Leachville High School students will be held at the old high school campus.

The group will take a walk through the old Leachville High School gymnasium at 11 a.m.

Refreshments will be served at noon at the elementary school cafeteria. All classes will meet in the cafeteria at 1 p.m. to visit.

In conjunction with the school reunion an old hometown event with classmates performing at The Melody Theater will be held at 6 p.m. There will be admission at the door. Proceeds will be used for purchasing new seats for the theater.

Family and friends of classmates are invited to attend.

The reunion is held every five years.

"We have a lot of talent and entertainment with individual classes being represented," Moba Lee Miller said.

Miller and Barbara Lloyd, reunion coordinators, said they are looking forward to the reunion.
