Dennis Ray Pierce

Dennis Ray Pierce, 61, of Manila, formerly of St. Louis, Mo., died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at his home. Born in Paragould, he was the son of the late Henry L. Pierce and had been a longtime St. Louis area resident before making his home in Manila in 2005. He was a 1966 graduate of Oak Grove High School near Paragould.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sherman Lee Pierce.

Survivors include his daughter, Meredith Pierce of Columbia, Mo.; his mother, Martha Burchard of Manila; two brothers, Darrell Pierce of Murfressboro, Tenn., and Gerald D. Pierce of Myakka City, Fla.; and two grandsons, Leander Brandle and Damien Brandle.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Rudy Burrow officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery. The family received visitors Thursday evening at the funeral home.
