Local players win AAU Regional Tournament

Three area basketball players helped Arkansas Hoops, a 14-and-under basketball team, win the AAU Texas Super Regional girls tournament in Dallas last weekend.

Brittany Fowler of Leachville, Lauren Weaver of Lake City and Cassidy Qualls of Monette helped Arkansas Hoops win four games and the tournament title.

Arkansas Hoops defeated the Louisiana Lady Devils 47-41 in overtime in the championship game.

In earlier games Arkansas Hoops beat Texas Lockdown 60-16; Texas Saints 54-19; and Texas Tigers 59-31.

Arkansas Hoops will compete in the AAU National Tournament in Orlando, Fla., in July.
