Members of the annual Lost Cane, Whistleville, Little River and Roseland reunion met Wednesday, May 26, at Ron's Catfish House in Jonesboro to discuss the upcoming reunion. Members present were Wayne and Patsy Boren, Billy and Rosealee Lott, Lee Wiggington, Donald and Callie Hampton, Harry Parks, Glenda Curtwright, Wealtha Kay Bradberry, Pat and Ben Davis, Rebecca Williams, and Boyd Estes.
The 11th annual reunion will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Manila Airport Community Center.
A potluck luncheon will be held with tea, water and coffee provided as well as plates, cups and utensils.
The annual event was created in memory of James Lloyd Mathes. This year's reunion will be held in memory of Ronnie Horner. Horner was a longtime committee member of the annual reunion.
"We hope to see everyone there," Estes said. "All neighbors from the surrounding communities are invited to come and join the reunion. Bring old stories and pictures to share. We hope everyone can get together for this time of remembering the past. The past gives meaning to the present and reasons to live for the future. We all look forward to the reunion every year."
