Opal Junita Rash, 87, died Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Monette Manor, Monette, after a long illness. Ms. Rash was born on Nov. 29, 1922 in Portageville, Mo., to the late Donnie Durban and Dovie Farris Durban. She was a member of the New Life Tabernacle in Wilson and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include three sons, Donnie Story of Florida, Gregory Bezzell Rash and wife Patricia of Osceola and James Anthony Smallwood of Wilson; three daughters, Wanda Lackey and husband Anthony of Manila, Mary Alice Davis of Crump, Tenn., and Lisa Kay Rash of Jonesboro; two sisters, Edwina "Dine" Washburn and Patsie Parks; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Ms. Rash was preceded in death by her husband, Henry B. Rash; her parents; three brothers, Frank Farris, Robert Farris and Loial David Farris; three sisters, Crystal Champion, Pauline Decker and Rosie White.

Funeral Services were 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Faith Funeral Service in Manila with Rev. Keith Stokes officiating. Interment was in Manila Cemetery.

The family received visitors from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Faith Funeral Service.
