Martha Jane Hout, 83, of Monette, widow of Wayne "Curly" Hout, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in the Macey Community, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Minnie Pitts Harrell and had been a lifelong Macey and Monette area resident. She was employed as school nurse in Monette for many years and was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Monette.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Harrell, and her son, Jackie Wayne Hout.

She is survived by a daughter, Gayle Malloy, and her husband Rodney of Clarksdale, Miss.; three brothers, Joe Harrell, and his wife, Evilene of Monette, Roy Glenn Harrell, and his wife Kate of St. Louis, Mo., and David Harrell, and his wife Verna Lou of Monette; a sister, Ione Brown, and her husband Jodie of Monette; two grandchildren, Shawna Young, and her husband David of Greenwood, Miss., and Lyle Malloy, and his wife Amy of Cleveland, Miss.; and three great-grandchildren, Neely Young, Ben Caleb Malloy and Bylar Cates Malloy.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Monette with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial followed in the Macey Cemetery. The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville.
