Buffalo Island Central broke out the bats in a big way Monday afternoon, April 26, at Bay, rolling to a 12-6 victory over the host Yellowjackets in non-conference baseball action.
Brent Ray led the way at the plate for the Mustangs, going 3-4 with a pair of RBIs. Ben Cole, Heath Hawkins, Josh McCormick and Wes Colbert all added a pair of hits for BIC, who picked up its 13th win of the season.
Isaac Ibanez pitched three shutout innings to pick up the win. The southpaw struck out three while allowing only one hit. Josh Freeman and Wes Colbert finished up on the mound to secure the victory.
Devin Griffin, Lyndon Livengood and Josh Harmon led Bay (16-8) with two hits each.
Westside used a four run fifth inning, breaking a 3-3 tie to claim a 7-3 win over the Mustangs Tuesday afternoon at Westside.
Colton Shadwick blasted a three-run homer in the first inning for the Warriors for a 3-0 lead before BIC rallied to tie the game in the fifth. Isaac Ibanez belted a two-run round-tripper to highlight the Mustang rally.
Freddy Prince pitched six and 2/3 innings to gain the victory for Westside. Prince struck out 12 Mustangs on the day.
Buffalo Island Central began District Tournament play Monday afternoon at Marked Tree.
