Buffalo Island Central capped off a perfect run through the 2A-3 conference with a doubleheader sweep of Cross County Monday afternoon, April 26, at Monette.
The Lady Mustangs took the opener 5-0 as Karla Marroquin fanned 10 batters while firing a one-hitter. Marroquin came back in the nightcap to pitch a two-hitter in the Lady Mustang's 7-2 victory over the Lady Thunderbirds.
Brittany Stockton had a pair of hits and two RBIs while Jodiee Clay knocked in a pair of runs in BIC's opening win.
Conner Berry went 2-2 and drove in three runs while Emily Owens added a pair of RBIs in the second game. Marroquin picked up the win, striking out eight Lady Thunderbirds. BIC improved to 15-2 overall and finished league play with a 12-0 record.
