Peggy Glen Stallings Fowler, 50 of Manila, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at her home. Born at Monette, she was a 1978 graduate of Trenton High School in Trenton, Fla., and had been a longtime resident of the Louisville, Ky., area before returning to Manila in 1998, where she worked as a secretary at Harold's Discount Furniture which is a longtime family-owned business in Osceola and Manila.

She was preceded in death by a brother, David Allen Stallings in 2003, two sisters, Jeanette Stallings in 1972 and Ramona Bruins in 2007.

She is survived by her son, Adam Stallings of Manila; her daughter, Sarah Fowler of Manila; her father, Harold Stallings and his wife, Stella of Manila; her mother, Shelby Hitt of Ft. Smith; her brother, Greg Stallings and his wife, Karen of Manila; and a grandson, Christopher Allen Stallings of Manila.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Paul Strong officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were Warren Jacobs, Tim Humble, Marty Fleeman, James Cupid, Ricky Joe Hitt and Michael Watson. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Morris, Jessie Proctor, Brodrick Harris, Billy Warren, Dennis Bruins and Ricky Isom, Jr.

The family received visitors Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
