Juanita Ballard Scott, 86, of Hobart, Ind., passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, at VNA Hospital in Valparaiso. She was born Dec. 3, 1922, in Manila, the daughter of William and Cora Lee Ballard. Juanita graduated from Black Water High School with the Class of 1941.
On November 13, 1943, she started her life with her late husband, Reede Scott. Juanita was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Juanita is survived by her loving family: daughter, Patricia Abramson of Boone Grove; two sons, Gary (Melanie) Scott of Hobart, and Gregory (Karen) Scott of Crown Point; two brothers, Harold Ballard of Memphis, Tenn., Ronald Ballard of Russellville; two sisters, Barbara (Joe Dean) Pierce of Manila, Ola Dee Castleman of Moore, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reede Scott; parents, William and Cora Lee Ballard; son, Bryan Scott; son-in-law, Michael Abramson; and sister, Sue Thomas.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 12, 2010, with Rev. Jonathan Gosser officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobard, Ind. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery.
