Riverside scored 17 runs before Ridgefield Christian could record an out as the Lady Rebels pounded out a 22-2 victory Monday afternoon in high school softball action in Jonesboro.
Johnna Gamble led Riverside at the plate, going a perfect 3-3. Makala Lyles, Lauren Weaver and Beth Anne Snyder each added a pair of hits for the Lady Rebels.
The Lady Eagles hurt themselves, issuing 12 walks while committing six errors.
Riverside whipped Cross County 10-5 Tuesday afternoon in a 2A-3 conference game at Cherry Valley. Chaney McLain picked up the win on the mound for the Lady Rebels. McLain pitched seven innings, striking out six while giving up just five hits. McLain allowed five runs and issued five base on balls.
Riverside, who improved to 5-4 on the year, was led by Becca Frayer at the plate. Frayer went 2-3, scored three runs and drove home a runner. Amber Fletcher also picked up two hits for the Lady Rebels and drove in a run.
Riverside returns to action Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Monette to take on archrival Buffalo Island Central in a 2A-3 conference matchup. The Lady Rebels will host Marmaduke Thursday afternoon at Lake City before closing the week with a road game against East Poinsett County Friday afternoon at Lepanto.
