Marmaduke scored two runs in the seventh inning to break a 5-5 tie and went on to a 7-5 victory over Buffalo Island Central in 2A-3 conference baseball action Thursday afternoon at Monette.
Morgan Hawley went the distance to pick up the win for Marmaduke. The sophomore right-hander (2-1) struck out seven and walked five while allowing six hits. The Greyhounds (6-4, 2-2 2A-3) got a two-run homer from Zac Vincent to pace Marmaduke offensively.
Mark Stone had two hits and drove in a pair of runs while Josh McCormick also lashed a pair of hits to lead BIC (3-4, 2-2 2A-3) at the plate.

The Mustangs bounced back Tuesday afternoon at Monette, routing Turrell 21-0 in a three inning game. Ben Cole, Brent Ray and Logan Dewitt all banged out two hits apiece. Heath Hawkins went the distance, striking out three batters to pick up the win.
BIC fell behind Bay 11-0 in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader before erupting for 10 runs to cut the deficit to 12-10 entering the seventh inning. The rally fell just short, as Bay held on for a 14-11 win.
Ben Cole led BIC at the plate, going 3-4. Cole stole three bases and scored four runs. Isaac Ibanez also went 3-4 and drove in three runs on the afternoon. Josh McCormick banged out a pair of hits and scored twice. Mark Stone blasted a two-run homer for the Mustangs.
Wes Colbert pitched 2 2/3 innings, struck out two and walked three. Mark Stone went 4 1/3 innings and fanned five while issuing three base on balls.
The Mustangs will take a week off for Spring Break before returning to action March 29 when they host Hoxie in a 3:30 nonconference game.
