Mark Hawkins joins Farm Bureau staff

Mark Hawkins joined the Farm Bureau staff on Feb. 1. Hawkins will be located in the Manila Farm Bureau office located at 603 South Highway 77.

The Leachville native is a 2004 graduate of Buffalo Island Central High School and the son of Cole and Kerin Hawkins of Leachville.

He graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in finance and economics. He has been working on a master's degree in business and administration from Arkansas State University.

Hawkins said he was looking for a good job when a friend told him about an opening with Farm Bureau.

"I did my research and everything I found out about the company was good," Hawkins said. "I decided to take the position. So far it has been a good decision. I am staying busy. I have met a lot of new people and am catching up with some old friends in the area."

Hawkins took classes in Jonesboro and received his license and is able to write all types of insurance.

Hawkins is joining J.P. Baugher, agent, and Tina Walton, secretary, in the Manila office.

"They have both been very helpful in helping me get started," Hawkins said. "They have answered all of my questions. It is good to come to work in a friendly atmosphere."

His office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Hawkins is looking forward to serving the people of the area.
