Mildred Ometha Tipton

Mrs. Mildred Ometha Tipton, 95, of Jonesboro, widow of A.A. "Pinky" Tipton, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Monette Manor Nursing Home. Born at Essary Springs, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Viola Essary Anderson. She was a former long time Manila resident and member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Tipton was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanette Powell.

Survivors include a daughter Inelda Nelson and husband Dr. Howard Nelson of Jonesboro; a sister, Jo Hueter of Warm Springs; a granddaughter, Lisa Houston of Houston, Texas; a grandson, Don Powell of Billings, Mo.; a great-grandson, Jeremy Houston of Houston, Texas; a great-granddaughter, Danyelle Powell of Billings, Mo.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Mr. Terry Joe Kee and Mr. Bill Willard officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery. The family received visitors Friday from noon until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider memorials to Greensboro Road Church of Christ benevolence fund.
