Jean Meeker, 89, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at Monette Manor. She was born July 4, 1920, in Monette to the late Oscar and Olan Davidson. She was a cook with Lane's Nursing Home and a member of the Leachville Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Buekle of Enterprise, Kan., and Tonya Warren of Seattle, Wash.; two sons, Guy Meeker Jr. of Hinesville, Ga., and Butch Bills of Freeport, Texas; two sisters, Jeanette Peters and Bonnie Phuefler; three brothers, Larry Davidson, Wayne Davidson and Earl "Bubbie" Davidson; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Guy Meeker, and a son, Claudy Meeker.
A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Leachville Second Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at the Leachville Second Baptist Church.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were Robert Clowers, Bob Crites, Johnny Hawkins, Randy Rose, Raymond Imler and Jim Burrier.
