Lake City council members approved the 2010 budget, established an employee handbook and accepted bids for work at the ball park at the Monday, Jan. 18, meeting.
All council members, Brenda Hutcheson, Harold Barker, Tommy Eakins, Ann Davis, Jeffrey Wisham and Jon Milligan, were present along with city clerk, Linda Simpson.
Mayor Billy Anderson presented the monthly finance report before Clerk Simpson read Ordinance 240-10, an ordinance providing for and adopting for the City of Lake City for the 12 months (Jan. 1, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2010) appropriating money for each and every item of expenditures.
Council voted 6-0 to adopt the ordinance.
Ordinance No 241-10, an ordinance establishing an employee handbook for the City of Lake City, was read and approved by all council members present.
The board unanimously accepted the bid of Smith Presson Construction for the roof bid at the Wayne "Biscuits" Short Ball Park at a cost of $13,900.
The council gave Mayor Anderson permission to auction miscellaneous items at an estimated value of $8,000.
The council discussed, but took no action, on fire department tax reporting policies. More information will be available at the next meeting.
