Jack Howard Roberts, Sr., 82, of Gallatin, Tenn., passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 1009. Mr. Roberts was a resident of Leachville for 39 years, 1927-1966.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Gallatin with Pastor Frank Whitaker officiating. Burial was at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, in the Leachville Cemetery in Leachville. Visitation was Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 4-8 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home.
Mr. Roberts was born in Leachville on Nov. 9, 1927, the son of the late Marshall and Zonia Frew Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a member of Harvest Hills Baptist Church and worked for McDonald's in Hendersonville as a maintenance man for 20 years and retired at the age of 77.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Roberts of Gallatin, Tenn.; a sister, Juanita Murphree of Leachville; daughters, Linda Finley of Leachville, Donna Foster and husband, Alvin, of Dowagiac, Mich., Judy Miller and husband B.R. of Leachville, Debbie Holden of Leachville, Jackie Ingram and husband Joel of Leachville, Melissa Cole and husband Larry of Springfield, Tenn., and stepdaughter Cindy Wilson of Pullman, Mich.; sons, Jack H. Roberts, Jr. of Whiteville, Tenn., Michael Roberts of Gallatin, Tenn., and stepson David Wilson and wife, Laura of Zeeland, Mich.; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, 13 stepgrandchildren, 31 step-great-grandchildren and 18 step-great-great-grandchildren.
