Dorothy "Dottie" Jeanette Cobbs, 69, of Leachville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at her home. Born Dec. 16, 1940, in Leachville to the late J.D. and Belle Edgin Connell, she had been a lifelong Leachville resident. She was a 1959 graduate of Leachville High School, a homemaker and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Leachville.

On May 30, 1959, she married the love of her life, Charles Cobbs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Connell.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Charles Cobbs of the home; a sister, Ruth Ann Taylor and her husband, Charles of Paragould; a stepbrother, Charles Connell and his wife Patsy of Union City, Tenn.; three stepsisters, Dona B. Mackin and her husband R.J., Janie Elliott and her husband Rube and Carolyn Cole and her husband Gerald all of Trenton, Tenn.; three nephews, Kenneth Taylor and his wife Mary Ann, Greg Taylor and his wife Christine all of Paragould and Mark Connell and his wife Sonya of Arlington, Tenn.; a niece, Rhonda Crawley and her husband Mark of Memphis, Tenn.; four great-nephews; four great-nieces and two great-great-nieces.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. David Price officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

The family received visitors Sunday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Serving as active pallbearers were Justin Lowe and deacons of the First Baptist Church, Marvin Brown, Marlin Miller, PeeWee Thomas, Randy Rose, Garry King, Nathan Sanders and Jerry Shrable. Honorary pallbearers were The Hannah Sunday School Class and their husbands and Debbie Davis.
