The Grape Vine Ridge Hunting Lodge, of Black Oak, fired up their massive BBQ grill about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Dec. 19, to cook over 400 pounds of Boston butts and chickens as a part of their annual Christmas dinner gift basket project.

This is the second year that the Grape Vine Ridge group has undertaken this worthy project. The members pay for the meat and cook it themselves. The gift baskets also contain an entire Christmas meal, with all the trimmings. Twenty-one baskets were completed and delivered by city leaders Randy Hutchison and Johnny Williams.

Grape Vine Ridge members sponsoring the project include Gerald Clark, Joe Walker, David Grimes, Ron Crosno, Eric Crosno, Casey Gray, and Dean Carlton.
