Jenna Pike drilled six three pointers on her way to a 20 point night to lead Buffalo Island Central to a 75-56 victory over Marmaduke in senior girls basketball action Monday night, Dec. 7, at the Mustang Athletic Complex.
Brittany Fowler scored 12 points while Shelby Qualls added 10 to also reach double figures for the Lady Mustangs. Michelle Greanny led the Lady Greyhounds with 15 points.
Marmaduke took the junior high contest 45-31. Kaitlyn Robinson nailed four three pointers and scored 14 points to lead the Lady Greyhounds. Brittany Stockton paced BIC with nine points while Cassidy Qualls and Emily Owens added eight points apiece. Katelyn Sparkman contributed six points.
BIC traveled to Batesville for the Lyon College Tournament Tuesday night, and suffered a heartbreaking 50-46 overtime loss to the Highland Lady Rebels.
Alex Isaacs, who led Highland with 16 points, scored a last second basket in regulation to force overtime. Highland outscored BIC 7-3 in the extra period to take the win.
Brittany Fowler led all scorers with 20 points while Jenna Pike added 12.
BIC led 21-8 after the first period and 27-15 at the half. Highland cut the Lady Mustang lead to 36-28 entering the final frame.
The Lady Mustangs will return to action Monday night when they travel to Bay. BIC will journey to Lepanto to take on East Poinsett County Thursday night.
