The Lady Rebels split a pair of senior high basketball games last week, dropping a 67-56 nonconference tilt at Bay before ending the week with a 63-47 2A-3 conference win over Turrell at Lake City.
Meagan Goza scored 16 points to lead Riverside in Monday night's loss at Bay. Michelle Cobb and Lauren Weaver also scored in double digits with 12 and 10 points respectively. Kyley Campbell and Becca Frayer scored seven points apiece while Ashley Calvert chipped in four. Chelsey Jones led Bay with 21 points.
Meagan Goza recorded a double-double, scoring 22 points while grabbing 12 rebounds in Riverside's victory over Turrell Thursday night. Freshman Lauren Weaver also produced a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Michelle Cobb and Kyley Campbell scored 10 points apiece, Ashley Calvert netted five while Becca Frayer pitched in three points.
The Lady Rebels are now 8-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
In junior high action, Riverside defeated Bay 38-27. The Lady Rebels (10-6, 1-0 2A-3) were led by Emilee Manues who scored 17 points. Lindsey Bennett tallied nine, Kenzley Wilson netted seven, Anna Brickell contributed three while Jordan Miller added two.
Riverside will return to the hard court Monday night, traveling to Marmaduke for a 2A-3 conference game before finishing off the week hosting Marked Tree in another conference tilt at Caraway.
In boys action, Riverside fell to Valley View 68-44 in the first round of the Gerald Jennings Holiday Tournament Wednesday night at Caraway.
Caleb Hendrix led the Blazers with a game high 21 points. M.J. Brewer scored 14 points to lead the Rebels, while Josh Anderson and Jake Love pitched in 11 and 10 points respectively.
Valley View led 18-11 after the first period, 36-25 at the half, and took a 47-34 lead into the fourth quarter.
Riverside will travel to Marmaduke Tuesday night before hosting Marked Tree Friday night at Caraway.
