Buffalo Island Central rolled over Pangburn 67-52 to capture the Bradford Basketball Tournament Championship Saturday night at Bradford.
Brittany Fowler poured in 33 points as the Lady Mustangs improved to 9-3 on the year. BIC sank 14-17 foul shots in the final quarter to seal the win. Jenna Pike also hit double digits for the Lady Mustangs scoring 14 points.
BIC reached the finals with a come-from-behind 65-63 victory over Midland. Midland held a 49-38 lead entering the final frame before the Lady Mustangs rallied behind Jenna Pike, who fired in three treys.
Midland held a 63-62 lead when Farrah Turner, who poured in 45 points, hit a bucket with 13 seconds left in the game. BIC's Brittany Fowler, who also pumped in 45 points, answered with a three point play with three seconds left, giving BIC the victory.
BIC (8-3) trounced White County 61-27 in the first round of the tournament. Holly Dempsey led all scorers with 22 points while Ashley Jines and Brittany Fowler chipped in 12 points apiece.
In junior girls action, BIC rolled past McArthur 36-22.
The senior boys lost in the first round of the Bradford Tournament, dropping a 47-41 decision to host Bradford. Ben Cole and Daniel Davis led the Mustangs with 10 points apiece.
Marmaduke defeated the Mustangs 60-42 Tuesday night at Marmaduke. Tyler Nailling led the Greyhounds with 19 points. James Tate topped BIC with 12 points.
The BIC senior boys and senior girls teams will participate in the Lyon College Tournament beginning Monday night at Batesville.
