A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for Bargain Connection in Caraway last week, at 201 E. State Street.

The business owners are Denise and Marvin Browning. The store stocks mostly new items with just a few specialty resale things placed in a bargain corner.

"Since we love going to auctions and sales, we thought that this type of business was just right for us," Mrs. Browning said. "We have tools, toys, Christmas gifts and home decor items."

Mr. Browning has been in business in Caraway since 1969 and is no stranger to the area. He is a member of the Caraway City Council and a lifetime city volunteer.

"In today's economy everyone is looking for a bargain," Browning said. "We want to stock good quality things at a reasonable price."

The business will be open 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. More information for specialty items can be obtained by calling 919-2339.

Mayor Barry Riley presided over the ribbon cutting ceremony, along with City Council members John Boatman and Bo James.
