Jenanne M. Martin, 61, of Jonesboro, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009. She was born in Jonesboro on Jan. 7, 1948. Mrs. Martin was a retired school teacher. She graduated from ASU in 1969 and received a Master's Degree from ASU in 1979. She taught school in Trumann from 1969 to 1978 and then at North School/Philadelphia in Jonesboro from 1978 to 2005. She received the Shannon Wright Golden Ruler Award in 1999 from KAIT, the Golden Apple Award from the Jonesboro Rotary Club in 2001 and the Teacher of the Year for Philadelphia in 2000-2001. Jenanne was also a member of First United Methodist Church.

She leaves behind her husband, Lloyd Martin of the home; a son and his wife, Brent and Jennifer Martin; a daughter and her husband, Misti and Matt Carr, all of Jonesboro; three brothers, Carroll Anderson and wife Norma, James "Andy" Anderson and wife Barbara all of Jonesboro, and DeWayne Anderson and wife Diane of Eads Tenn.; three grandchildren, Hunter Nelson, Madeline Martin and Tyler Martin; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Maxine Treanor Anderson.

Visitation was held Saturday from 5-8:00 p.m. at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Funeral services were Sunday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with John Miles and Patty Soward officiating. Burial was in Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers included Bryan Anderson, Austin Anderson, Freddy Bowen, Randy Watkins, Ryan Rose and Melissa Coffell.
