Manila's Lady Lions took home a pair of 3A-3 conference victories, rolling over Tuckerman 71-38 at Manila before closing out the week with a 45-35 win at Harrisburg.
Senior guard Kimberly Wise pumped in 22 points while senior Carla Kemp added 16 more to lead Manila past Tuckerman. Freshman Cortney Craine also hit double digits, scoring 10 points. Manila jumped to a 26-9 first period lead and extended their advantage to 48-17 by halftime. The Lady Lions took a 61-25 lead into the final quarter.
Maegan Presson scored seven points, Kristen Painter and Tiffany Pentecost tallied six points apiece while Savannah Jones and Jordan Robertson rounded out the Lady Lion scoring with two points each. Manila shot a blistering 12-14 from the free throw line and drilled seven three pointers on the night, including four by Wise.
Tuckerman was led by Cati Dolezal who scored 12 points while Amanda Kendrick chipped in 10 more.
Manila led all the way in their 10 point victory over Harrisburg Thursday night. Manila jumped to a 23-12 lead after the opening quarter, led 31-23 at the half and closed the third period with a 10 point lead, 37-27.
Wise led the Lady Lions with 12 points while Kemp scored 11 more. Craine tallied eight points, Painter netted seven, Pentecost chipped in six while Jones added one point to round out Manila's scoring attack. The Lady Lions finished 14-26 from the foul line and made five three pointers.
In junior high action, Manila split a pair of games, defeating Tuckerman 45-30 before dropping a close 34-32 decision to Harrisburg.
Shelby Wallace led Manila in the Lady Lion's victory over Tuckerman with 13 points. Kirsten Adcock and Kailin Shelton scored seven points apiece, Devon Burrow and Kristen Wise netted five points each while Taylor Teague and Taylor Bishop chipped in four points apiece. Manila held a 17-7 lead after the first period and stretched their advantage to 26-10 at the half. The Lady Lions took a 36-18 lead into the final frame.
Sarah Shipman led Tuckerman with 10 points.
Ki Howton poured in 17 points to lead Harrisburg over Manila Thursday night. Manila led 9-5 after the first period before Harrisburg rallied for a 17-13 edge at intermission. The Lady Hornets held a 26-23 advantage entering the final period and held on for the two point win.
Adcock drained four three pointers and scored 12 points to lead the Lady Lions in scoring. Shelton scored seven points, Charlie Smith tallied four, Teague netted three while Wallace, Wise and Burrow contributed two points apiece.
Manila will return to action Monday night when they travel to Gosnell to take on the Lady Pirates.
