Laynes celebrate 60 years

Lucian "Jiggs" Layne and Billy Jack Richardson Layne recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

The couple married Oct. 21, 1949, in Jonesboro at the home of Mr. Layne's sister and brother-in-law, Jewell and Bill Hutchison.

They have lived all 60 years of their marriage in Monette at 410 South Edmonds Street.

They have two children, Skip Layne, and wife, Marla, and Cindy Hatch, and husband, Mike.

They have four grandchildren, Chip Layne, Crystal Layne Cline, Kristi Hatch Austin, and Brian Hatch.

They have six great-grandchildren, Taylor Layne, Whitlee Layne, Kelsea Cline, Kaitlyn Cline, Ryan Austin and Layne Austin.

"They have been wonderful parents and grandparents," Skip Layne said. "We had all of the family together to celebrate this accomplishment on Sunday at their home. We had a great time visiting and enjoyed a nice meal together."
