Riverside's Lady Rebels split a pair of non-conference games last week in senior girls basketball action.

Riverside opened the week with a 61-46 loss to Bay at Lake City. Tressa Jenkins scored 23 points while Trisha Dedman added 15 to pace the Lady Yellowjackets, who hit 14-21 free throws and nailed seven three pointers on the night.

Freshman Lauren Weaver scored 16 points while Meagan Goza added 15 more to lead Riverside. Michelle Cobb scored nine while Becca Frayer and Kyley Campbell pitched in three points apiece to round out the Lady Rebel attack.

Riverside hit 10-18 free throws and had two three pointers on the night.

Bay took an 18-6 lead after the first period and held a 32-23 lead at the half. The Lady Yellowjackets held a 48-32 advantage into the final frame.

Riverside came back Thursday night to post a 58-49 victory over Weiner at Lake City. Lauren Weaver pumped in 30 points to lead the Lady Rebels while Michelle Cobb scored 11 points. Becca Frayer had seven, Meagan Goza tallied six while Kyley Campbell added four. Riverside hit nine of 17 free throws and made five treys.

Riverside held a 15-11 lead after the first quarter and took a slim 28-25 advantage into the dressing room at the half. The Lady Rebels led 41-40 going into the final period before pulling away for the 11 point victory.

In junior high action, Riverside held off Bay 39-31 Monday night before dropping a

30-20 decision Thursday night against Weiner.

The Lady Rebels got 10 points apiece from Emilee Manues and Jordan Miller. Kenzley Wilson scored nine, Lindsey Bennett netted eight while Anna Brickell pitched in two points for the Lady Rebels, who hit nine of 13 free throws and made two three pointers on the night.

Cara Sharp led Bay with 10 points. The Lady Yellowjackets connected on two of two from the foul line and made five treys on the night.

Riverside held a 9-4 lead after the first period and led 18-15 at the half. The Lady Rebels took a 27-24 lead into the final period.

In Thursday night's 30-20 loss to Weiner, Riverside got six points apiece from Emilee Manues and Anna Brickell. Kenzley Wilson scored three, Emiy Jordan and Lindsey Bennett had two points each while Kenadi Calahan added one point.

Riverside shot a miserable one for 11 from the foul line and hit one three pointer.

The Lady Rebels led 7-2 after the first quarter before Weiner took a 16-14 lead at the half. Riverside went scoreless in the third period and fell behind 21-14 entering the final frame.
