The Monette High School Class of 1957 celebrated their fifty-second year reunion on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the First Baptist Church family life center in Monette.

Registration and visitation began at 2 p.m. Several classmates toured the Buffalo Island Museum in the afternoon and visited with former Monette High School Principal Edna Mae Freeman at Monette Manor.
Class memorabilia and photos were displayed at the reunion, and a large banner displayed the school colors of green and white.
The informal program began at 5 p.m. with a memorial candle lighting ceremony directed by 1957 Class President John Paul Maynard. One classmate, Willow Dean Dawson, passed away after the 50th reunion held in 2007. Other deceased classmates include Patsy Martin Bridges, Ralph Cornish, Wayne Reynolds Dowdy, Anita Butts Fisher, Marvin Fisher, Eddie Lyle Henry, Charles Kelly, Robert Masner, Charles McFarlin, Leland McKinney, Billy Nettles, Rex Pace, Claren Taylor and Jessie Corter Yates.
The class voted to hold their next reunion on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, in Monette.
The evening meal was catered by Bigg Butts BBQ of Leachville and included pork steak and chicken, along with a variety of vegetables and desserts.
