It was a second retirement for Alexander as he retired from the U.S. Air Force in, serving 21 years.
Alexander has been with Southworth for 23 years, being part of several expansion projects in Manila through the years.
Mr. Alexander's wife, Kay, joined him for the reception as he received well wishes, cards and gifts from Southworth employees, friends and former co-workers.
Brian McNamara, president of Southworth, was in Manila to offer his appreciation to Alexander for his years of dedicated service to the company.
Alexander is staying busy in his retirement and once again is a college student. He has enrolled in college taking computer networking classes.
McNamara described Alexander as always focused, always steady, always fair, and always reasonable.
"This made me confident that whatever the issue - technical, personnel, political or whatever - he would keep things under control," McNamara said. "He didn't personally solve every issue. To his credit, he was smart enough not to try. He would assess the situation, stabilize it, frame it and then seek support."
