Stynes Floyd Brown

Stynes Floyd Brown, 84, of Caraway, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at the Manila Nursing Center. Born at Black Oak, he was the son of the late Ed and Pearl Austin Brown and had lived most of his life in the Milligan Ridge Community. He was a retired cotton ginner, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Milligan Ridge Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Brown.

Survivors include a stepson, Jack Whitsitt of Plaquemine, La.; four sisters, Wilda Kinsel of Flint, Mich., Ruby Beasley of Manila, Sybil Grant of Missouri, and Thelma Payne of Gulfport, Miss.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Waymon Holt officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
