The Manila School Board filled several positions and approved a transfer at the regular meeting held Aug. 20.
Following an executive session, the board unanimously approved Superintendent Pam Castor's recommendations to transfer Susan Hollis from pre-K aide to the position of elementary building secretary for the 2009-2010 school year; and hire Jeannie Hitt as pre-K aide contingent on her completion of required training.
The Board accepted the resignation of Diane Chambers, cafeteria staff, effective Aug. 21. The board approved Sonya Bennett's contract to full time effective Aug. 17.
William Vassar was hired as special needs paraprofessional for the 2009-2010 school year.
Superintendent Castor recommended the board oppose the Kipp Charter. The motion, made by Tracey Reinhart and seconded by Tony Crowell, passed 6-0.
The board voted unanimously to accept the exclusive drink contract from RC/7-Up.
The board approved the purchase of MS OfficeProPlus software license at the cost of $18,220.50 from TAPS.
