Manila School Board members held a special meeting Tuesday evening, filling two positions.
Following a short executive meeting, the board voted unanimously to hire Alesha Morgan of Leachville as special education teacher and Brandon Burgess of Jonesboro as high school biology/science teacher.
Superintendent Pam Castor recommended the board equalize the number of contract days for the head boys basketball coach and the head girls basketball coach. Board members voted unanimously in favor of her recommendation.
Castor then recommended adding five days on the contact for the marching band director which passed unanimously.
Board members present were President Johnny McCain, Jackie Hill, Brandon Veach, Danny Robbins, Steve Metheny, and Tony Crowell. Tracey Reinhart was absent.
The regular school board meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
