Jimmy Barrett, 66, of Caraway, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 20, 2009, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro.
He was a loving father and grandfather and loved by all who knew him. He was a member of Rivervale Baptist Church. He was a timberman and farmer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Alice Barrett, three brothers, Claudie Joe, Ervin "Cub' and Ronnie, three sisters, Christine, Imogene, and JoyMae, and a granddaughter Allison.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Barrett of Caraway; son, Jeff Barrett of Lepanto; daughters, Kim Barrett of Lepanto, Robbin Simpson of Houston, Tex., Kelli Williams of Lepanto, Michelle Brown of Lepanto, Stephanie Gonzalez of Lepanto; step-sons, Donnie Schmitt of Litchville, N.H., Brian Shmitt of Ponchatoula, La., Kevin Schmitt of Natalbany, La.; stepdaughter, Angie Schmitt of Tallahasee, Fla.; brothers, Owen Barrett of Farmington, Dale Barrett of Caraway; sisters, Norma Brooks of Holland, Mich., Alice Wright of Marked Tree, Rita Turner of Mammoth Springs, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rivervale Baptist Church with Terry Tacker officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home of Lepanto.
