Donald Max Anthony

Donald Max Anthony, 61, of Robinsonville, Miss., formerly of Leachville, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tenn. Born and raised in Leachville, he was the son of the late Hawley Lee and Amelia Robins Anthony and had spent many years in northwest Arkansas. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and had served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired wholesaler and had been a resident of Robinsonville, Miss., since 1985.

Survivors include two daughters, Penelope Joy Barnes and her husband, John, of Memphis and Michelle Anthony of Memphis; two grandsons, Zachary Barnes and Cole Anthony, both of Memphis; a sister, Carol Joy Carter of Memphis; and two very special friends, DeWayne and Blondie Gibson.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. David Price officiating. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery. The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
