Lady Rebels place second in Conference track meet
Riverside's Lady Rebels placed second in the 2A-2 junior high track meet held May 4 at Mountain Home High School, led by Becca Frayer's winning performances in the both the 100 and 200 Meter Dashes. Frayer won the 100 Meter Dash with a blistering time of 12.85 seconds before racing to the 200 Meter crown with a time of 27.41 seconds.
Morgan Fletcher helped Riverside to a fourth place finish in the boys division. The speedy freshman picked up three first place finishes. Fletcher blazed home with a winning time of 11.98 seconds to capture the 100 Meters and picked up another first in the 200 Meter Sprint with a winning time of 25.09 seconds. Fletcher jumped 31' 6" in winning the Triple Jump competition and topped off his big day in the individual events by finishing fifth in the 110 Meter Hurdles and seventh in the Long Jump.
Also scoring points in the 100 Meter Dash for Riverside was Leslie Lyles and Lindsey Bennett, who finished fifth and seventh respectively. In the 200 Meter Dash, Teylor Hill came in seventh. Hill also picked up a second place finish in the 100 Meter Hurdles, just ahead of teammate Lindsey Bennett who came in third. Bennett placed second in the 400 Meters with Anna Brickell placing fifth.
Frayer took home third in the Triple Jump, while teammates Anna Brickell and Teylor Hill finished fourth and fifth respectively. Bennett came in fourth in the 300 Meter Hurdles while Emilee Manues placed fifth. Allie Burch garnered fifth in the 800 Meter Run.
In the longer distance races, Kenzley Wilson placed second in the 1600 Meter Run while Emilee Manues finished seventh.
Lauren Weaver came in second in the Shot Put while teammate Emily Jordan placed fourth. Jordan Miller rounded out the scoring for the Lady Rebels in the event, taking eighth. Weaver also grabbed an eighth place finish in the Discus.
In the Long Jump, Frayer scored points by placing fourth while Wilson and Amber Booth garnered sixth and seventh place finishes respectively in the High Jump.
Riverside scored points in three of the relay races, led by a first place finish in the 4x100 Meter Run. The Lady Rebels were represented by Frayer, Hill, Lyles and Kristen Carner. The quartet of Brickell, Manues,Wilson and Amber Fletcher placed fourth in the 4x800 Meter Relay while Fletcher teamed with Burch, Booth and Susan Sailor to place fourth in the 4 X 400 Meter Relay.
Dylan Wright came in third in the 400 Meter Dash while Tyler Glover picked up fourth in the Shot Put. Cody Williams placed fourth in the 1600 Meter Run while Logan Meurer garnered a sixth place finish in the Triple Jump.
Other results on the boy's side included Mitchell Staggs' eighth place finish in the 100 Meter Run as well as an eighth place finish by James Boness in the 300 Meter Hurdles.
The 4x100 Meter Relay team of Fletcher, Staggs, Meurer and Boness took home second while the Rebels came in fourth in the 4 X 800 Meter Relay with the team of Meurer, Wright, Anthony Grooms and Cody Williams. The boys rounded out their scoring on the day with a sixth place finish in the 4x400 Meter Relay with the team of Boness, Grooms, Tyler Jones and Lathe Lunsford.
