Riverside captured conference track meet

Riverside captured the 2A-2 senior girls conference track meet May 8 at Heber Springs, outlasting rival Buffalo Island Central 131-123 behind freshman sensation Bekah Frayer, who led the Lady Rebels with three individual first place finishes.

Frayer placed first in the 100 Meter Dash with a blistering time of 12.73 seconds. Frayer took home the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 27.21 seconds, and rounded out her trifecta of first place finishes by winning the 100 Meter Hurdles in a time of 20.07. The speedy freshman teamed with Michelle Cobb, Taylor Boness, and Kyley Campbell to pick up a second place finish in the 4x100 Meter Relay and completed her outstanding day by placing third in the Long Jump.

Kailey Holt placed in four events, highlighted by a first place finish in the High Jump. The senior took home fourth place in both the 100 and 300 Meter Hurdles. Holt capped off her day with a seventh place finish in the Long Jump.

Katey Campbell placed in four individual events, including two fifth place finishes in the Shot Put and the Long Jump. Campbell placed sixth in the Triple Jump and had a seventh place finish in the Discus. The senior was also part of the 4x800 and 4x 400 Relay teams that finished second and fourth respectively.

Morgan Emery placed third in the both the 100 and 200 Meter sprints. Emery was also a part of the 4x 400 and 4x 800 Meter Relay teams.

Taylor Boness picked up a pair of fourth place finishes in the Triple Jump and Shot Put.

Alyssia Thibodeaux and Ashley Calvert placed fourth and fifth in the 800 Meter Run. Kyley Campbell came home fifth in the Triple Jump and took part in a second place finish in the 4x 800 Meter Relay event as well as a fourth place finish in the 4x400 Meter Relay. Kayleigh Wilson rounded out the Lady Rebel scoring with a fifth place finish in the 1600 Meter Run.

The Riverside boys finished fifth in the team standing with 97 points. Cedar Ridge claimed the championship with a score of 185.

Jake Love led the Rebel tracksters finishing first in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.08 seconds. Love teamed with Cam Casey, Tyler Warhurst and Josh Driver to win the 4x 100 Meter Relay event. The sophomore runner took home a sixth place finish in the 400 Meters and took eighth in the Long Jump.

Senior Cam Casey was also part of the winning 4x100 Meter Relay team and picked up a pair of runner-up finishes in the 200 Meter Run and the 300 Meter Hurdles. Casey rounded out his day with sixth and seventh place finishes in the Long Jump and High Jump respectively.

Josh Driver helped the 4x100 Meter Relay team take home first place and individually placed third in the 100 Meter Dash, fifth in the Triple Jump and sixth in the 200 Meter Sprint.

Tyler Warhurst completed the 4x100 Meter Relay team that finished first. The senior also took home a seventh place finish in the Long Jump.

Love, Casey, Driver and Warhurst teamed together to take home a fifth place finish in the 4x400 Relay event.

Josh Anderson had fifth place finishes in the both the Discus and the 400 Meter Run while placing sixth in the High Jump and seventh in the Triple Jump.

Luke Moyer placed fourth in the Shot Put and seventh in the Discus while Cody Williams came in third in the 800 Meters. Tyler Glover finished eighth in the Shot Put.

Warhurst, Williams, Cody Stallings and Bryan Poe finished third in the 4x800 Meter Relay event.
