All in fun and for a good cause
The annual Miss Mess and Miss Tacky were held back to back on Saturday night at the Melody Theater.
The events benefit the Buffalo Island American Cancer Relay for Life.
Serena Duffel served as emcee for the event. Paula Bowen co-sponsored the event which proved to be very entertaining.
Miss Mess contestants included Iwanna Letone (Chuck Wilder), Roxann (Jessie Wood), Stophanie Fastall (Steve Southard) and Gracie the Graduate (Charles Wood).
After each contestant showed their "beauty and talent" the 2009 Miss Mess, Iwanna Letone, was crowned. Stophanie Fastall was named runner-up.
Entertainment was provided in between events by the talented Jamie Riley (Little Elvis). Jamie has been performing Elvis since he was three years old.
Miss Tacky contestants included 1-800-Jenny (Sharon McKinney); Becky Black (Tammy Sipes), Daisy Mae Bluefield (Barbara Woods) and Little Miss Eva (Brenda Barger).
The contestants vied for the crown with Little Miss Eva named the tackiest of Miss Tacky for 2009. Runner-up was Becky Black.
Drawings and prizes were held throughout the evening.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Buffalo Island Relay for Life set for June 26 at the Leachville City Park.
