Delaner R.D. Rece, 73. of Leachville died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at his home. Mr. Rece was born Sept. 5, 1935 in Manila to the late Fred Rece and Mozella (Brown) Rece. Mr. Rece was a longtime resident of Leachville and member of the Second Baptist Church. A former Leachville police officer, Mr. Rece also served in U.S. Army as a medic and retired as general foreman from ASP Steel of Blytheville after several years. He love fishing, hunting and anything outdoors and he loved doing anything with is grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Linda (Haynes) Rece of 48 years of Leachville; two sons, Ronnie Rece of Jonesboro and Barry Rece of Leachville; four daughters, Linda Anders of Arkansas, Brenda Delancey of Arkansas, Sherry Cagle and Carie Hawkins, both of Leachville; four brothers, Ted Rece of Jonesboro, J.C. Green of Manila, Eldon Green of Jacksonville, Fla., and James Lester of Georgia; a siser, Janette Smith of Jonesboro; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Rece was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Oliver E. Green, and a brother, Dewey Rece.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Monday, April 20, at the Second Baptist Church in Leachville with Rev. Russel Rhodes officiating. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery.

The family received visitors Sunday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Second Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were Jeffery Rece, Michael Burrier, Enos Rece, Patrick Green, Greg Rece, Jimmy Rece and Steven Green.

Faith Funeral Service of Manila was in charge of arrangements.
