Manila picked up a 9-2 win over Brookland in the nightcap of Monday 3A-3 conference doubleheader at Brookland.

Leigha Woody went 3-3 and drove in three runs while Kristen Painter also had three hits with a pair of RBIs and two stolen bases to lead the Lady Lion attack. Brooke Hill picked up a pair of hits, drove in two runs and swiped three bases. Colleen Kemp and Johnna Dodd added singles. Painter went the distance to pick up the victory, allowing just three hits. The junior struck out two and issued four walks.

Brookland took the opener 9-1 behind the pitching of Ginny Nelms, who struck out 11 Lady Lions. Manila's Katie Donner went 2-2 at the plate, stole three bases and scored a run. Kristen Painter suffered the loss, giving up all nine runs and seven hits. Painter fanned three and walked nine.

Manila traveled to Harrisburg Thursday and dropped a pair of games, 11-0 and 12-2 to the Lady Hornets. Leigha Woody and Chantel Hanes had Manila's only hits in the opener while Hanes added a stolen base. Kristen Painter suffered the loss, surrendering 11 hits while issuing seven walks.

In the nightcap, the Lady Lions got a pair of hits from Colleen Kemp, who also stole two bases. Johnna Dodd and Leigha Woody added RBI singles while Katie Donner and Kristen Painter also had base hits with a stolen base apiece. Painter took the loss on the mound.

Manila will close out the regular season, hosting Corning Monday afternoon and Tuckerman on Wednesday. The Lady Lions will begin District Tournament play Thursday at Harrisburg.

Buffalo Island Central pounded out a 14-3 victory Monday afternoon over Marmaduke. Corie Flannigan went 3-3 for the Lady Mustangs (10-5, 8-1 2A-3) while Karla Marroquin went 3-4 at the plate. Marroquin picked up the win, striking out 14 Marmaduke batters.

The Lady Mustangs will conclude regular season play hosting Marmaduke in a 4:00 doubleheader Monday at Monette before traveling to Riverside for a single game Tuesday afternoon. BIC will host the 2A-3 District Tournament which is slated to begin Friday.
