Buffalo Island Central won both games of a doubleheader with East Poinsett County, taking the opener 12-0 before completing the sweep with an 11-4 win in the nightcap Thursday afternoon at Monette. The Lady Mustangs closed out the week with a 7-3 victory at Rector to improve to 6-2 overall and 6-0 in 2A-3 conference action.

Karla Marroquin was a perfect 6-6 in BIC's doubleheader sweep over EPC while picking up both victories on the mound. Marroquin drove in seven runs on the day while hurling complete game victories in both ends of the doubleheader. Marroquin was 3-3 in the opening game with four RBIs and went 3-3 in the nightcap with three more RBIs.

Jenna Pike went 2-3 with two runs batted in while Jenny Walker also had a pair of hits and two RBIs in the opener. Marroquin pitched five shutout innings, allowing only two hits with no walks and six strikeouts.

Marroquin pitched all five innings of the nightcap, allowing four runs on four hits. Marroquin walked a pair and struck out five. Megan Misner was a perfect 3-3 at the plate with two RBIs while Corie Flannigan went 2-3 with two RBIs to support Marroquin in the second game victory.

The Lady Mustangs scored four times in the sixth inning of Friday's 7-3 victory over Rector. Karla Marroquin, Demi Hargrove and Jenna Pike all had two hits with Marroquin driving in four runs on the afternoon. Marroquin picked up the win on the mound, allowing just one earned run on four hits while striking out 10 and allowing just two walks.

BIC will return to action March 30 when they travel to Marked Tree to take on the Lady Indians. The Lady Mustangs will host Riverside March 31st before traveling to Rector April 2. BIC will participate in the Midland Tournament April 3-4 at Midland.

Buffalo Island Central's boys dropped a 6-1 decision Tuesday afternoon at Rector. BIC (0-2) got two hits apiece from Mark Stone, Ross Clark and Dillon Hargrove. Taylor Morgan gave up three runs on three hits to absorb the loss.

BIC resumes action Monday when they host Manila, and will play Marked Tree Tuesday afternoon, also at Monette. The Mustangs travel to Highland Wednesday to take on the Rebels in a 4:00 game.
