Riverside splits week

Riverside opened the season with a 23-1 victory over Osceola Monday afternoon at Caraway in a game called after three innings. Josh Driver picked up the victory while Nick Bagley drove in three runs on the day.

The Rebels traveled to Rector Tuesday afternoon, dropping an 8-1 decision to the Cougars. Rector's Cody Hager limited the Rebels to just three hits while striking out eight in 6 1/3 innings on the mound. Dalton Shaw went 3-4 at the plate, while Justin Duke also banged out three hits while driving in a pair of runs to lead Rector to the win.

Josh Driver led Riverside with a pair of hits while Jake Love had an RBI single. Blake Hogan took the loss, allowing four runs in three innings of work. Hogan gave up three hits on the day.
