Mary Lucille McCann, 89, of Manila, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at her home. Born in Dyer county, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bestal Virginia Norris Parks and was a lifelong Manila area resident. She was the widow of B.A. McCann and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Manila.

In addition to her parents, husband, and eight siblings, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Allene McCann, a grandson, Bennie Alton McCann, III, and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Bryant Johnson.

She is survived by two sons, Bennie McCann and wife Pat of Helena and Keith McCann and wife Gerri of Manila; a daughter, Karen Speck and husband Don of Helena; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and two very special friends, Brenda Matheny and Wilma Lindsey.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Manila with Rev. William Piercy and Rev. Ferrel Duffel officiating. Burial was in Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville. The family received visitors Thursday evening at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila.

Pallbearers were Jeff McCann, Jeff McCann, II, Keith McCann, II, Jeremy Speck, Charles Johnson, and Kenneth Moss.
